Tips on shooting Drone Video at dusk
Dusk or Civil Twilight is a great time for Drone Video and Stills. Make sure you take proper safety precautions to ensure safe flight. Civil Twilight is the period 30 minutes before sunrise and 30 minutes after sunset. Why is this a good time? It’s an optimal time where ambient light and lights on buildings reach an equilibrium. Thereby creating a beautiful opportunity for some gorgeous imagery. I find the best time to launch is a few minutes before sunset, until about 15 minutes after sunset to get the best and varied conditions. Anti collision lights are required by the FAA for this time period. I use the AVEO PICOMAX DRONE BEACON STROBES. They work really well and are very small.
